#1 was spot-on! Especially the control diagnosis. I have been told this by white people and brainwashed Black people in higher ed. I am capable and confident in my abilities. I work. Hard. And do not require people to hold my hand and I certainly do not dim my light. Yet, I am the one person in the office who will pass out Yankee candles for Christmas and make coffee for everyone.
