Do anti-Woke and anti-DEI Collegiate Policies Apply to the Athletic Departments at Predominantly White Institutions?

This will be my shortest post ever.

So far, with the anti-woke/anti-DEI political rhetoric being turned into legislative actions that affect the landscape of higher education, I have a question: do anti-woke and anti-DEI collegiate policies apply to the athletic department?

Below is a picture of the Vermont State University football team. Look at the racial composition. Four of the 17 for this starting lineup are people of color. Can we say that’s a fair ratio? According to anti-woke and anti-DEI logic, those are four slots that could have gone to deserving white players. Are they not? I mean, come on. These players are “affirmative action” players. That was the hate speech when I attended my Predominantly White Institution.

As I see one university after another dismantle Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion offices in Republican states, I want to know how many of these people are having conferences with the athletic departments or faculty-student-athlete committees in order to ensure that people of other races have a fair shot at competing in college sports?
